Customers will be able to have fun with Pepper the robot!
Carrefour began last week a tour to introduce Pepper, a robot that interacts with customers and which will spend a month in Cabrera, Barberá and Gran Vía hypermarkets. This action forms part of the company’s innovative strategy using new technologies to make shopping easier. After its spell in Catalonia, it will go on to visit 36 stores in 17 Spanish provinces this year. Carrefour is a pioneer in the use of robotics for fun and informative purposes.
Customers will be able to have fun:
- Pepper Hola, welcomes customers and provides information via an integrated tablet on promotions, discounts and the MiCarrefour app.
- Pepper Fun, incorporates fun functions for interactive play with children through games, dances, selfies and short conversations.
Carrefour’s pioneering experiment with robotics
In 2015, Carrefour used the robot, NAO, to provide an educative programme on healthy food and eating habits to over 1,000 children from different schools and associations in 16 Spanish cities.
Today, Nao travels with the Caravana de la Salud (Health Caravan), a mobile unit that gives cooking and nutrition workshops, where he livens up visits by giving healthy eating advice for the very young.
