The first shampoo bottles made from plastic found on beaches
Since 1 June, 150,000 Head & Shoulders branded bottles, up to 25% of which are made from recovered plastic waste, are on sale exclusively and as part of a limited edition in the beauty departments of all Carrefour hypermarkets and Market stores.
For this original campaign, Carrefour is raising the awareness of its customers in stores of the importance of protecting our oceans, recycling plastics and sorting the packaging used for bathroom products, while selling them a product which is the embodiment of this virtuous behaviour. The aim is to educate customers in good sorting practices, encouraging them to more effectively sort different types of packaging with a view to recycling them.
Optimising resources and eco-designing packaging while reducing the quantities of plastic used so as to generate less waste are among Carrefour's priority environmental objectives.
More effective sorting is also a way to manufacture new materials by recycling plastic bottles – an initiative that is already under way in the manufacture of certain products in the TEX brand.
