What exactly is the switchover to organic?
Switching over to organic means making profound changes to production or livestock rearing methods. It involves switching from conventional farming methods to organic farming methods, i.e., methods which do not use synthetic chemical pesticides or GMOs, in accordance with a strict set of specifications defined by European legislation.
Why do we need to take action?
Feeding the world's ever-growing population is an immense challenge, particularly when there is growing pressure on our environment and our resources are running out. Conventional agricultural methods are depleting our planet's soils and resources… and farmers are still not always able to earn a living from their labours. Society has a responsibility to help farmers make the switch to organic farming methods.
