Ourinitiatives

Understanding and adapting to new consumer behaviors and their demands for fair and equitable prices is fundamental. Carrefour has therefore identified three major trends which structure its approach:

  • new dietary behaviors: which requires responding to growing demand and allowing the world population to benefit from a healthy diet;

  • a requirement for accessibility: reconciling the requirement for better eating and that of purchasing power is a global issue;

  • consumption patterns transformed by digital technology: the deployment of new technologies offers new promises for the consumer: saving time, fluidity, transparency and personalization. The rise of digital finally accompanies the demand for transparency on the products purchased and the deployment of Blockchain technology offers reinforced guarantees in terms of food safety and traceability.

The Group has different levers to guarantee consumer health and product quality. The Group is based on an action plan composed of three axes:

  • commit to food quality and safety,
  • make quality accessible at a fair price
  • collectively become actors in the food transition.
